Case Study Analysis
Writing Up the Analyzing Case Study – Probably Not Your Favorite Way to Spend Your Days and Nights!
Make no mistake about it – a case study is a tough task. As one student once put it, “I am thinking the stomach flu would be preferable to this!” And it’s not like you aren’t interested in the topic. After all, this is your major field of study in grad school. It’s just that there is a due date coming, and you are nowhere near being finished.
Look at the Steps and Evaluate Your Needs
- You’ve probably at least determined the general area of interest and may have even narrowed you study down to the specific organization or person about which this case study will be conducted. That’s a good start, and, if you are lucky, you have some initial enthusiasm.
- The research hits like a bomb. You really have to do a lot, so that you have scholarly studies that are driving the case study you intend to pursue. Then you of course must apply that research and the solutions it offered to your problem.
- From here, it gets a bit dicey. Are you going to demonstrate that one or more solutions should be applied to the problem you are analyzing? (Most business case studies involve this procedure), or are you going to try to apply one of those solutions to the individual/group of your study?
